Understanding the Data
Selection Review
If your child scores below 121, you can request a review by a panel of headteachers who assess whether the child is suitable for grammar school.
Qualifying Score
A Standardised Transfer Test Score (STTS) of 121 or above qualifies a child for grammar school entry without review.
Score 120
Just 1 point below qualifying. Historically the highest review success rate, typically 60-70%.
Appeal
If review is unsuccessful, you can appeal to an independent panel from March 1st when refused a place at a specific grammar school. Appeal qualification is for that school only.
Success Rate
Percentage of review applications at each score that resulted in the child being qualified for grammar school.
